The traditional way to play mountain dulcimer focuses on fretting the melody string(s) and strumming along with the rhythm of the tune. A couple of tunes will be presented in each class meeting, getting familiar with strums & some flat-picking. DAD tuning, no 6+ fret needed!
This class is suitable for someone who has played mountain dulcimer for 3-12 months, or who wants to add more simple tunes to their repertoire.
DJ has played dulcimer since 1979 & teaches at The Freight and Berkeley Adult School, as well as online. With 46 years of experience, she can break it down for you!
